She designed it herself! She bought the fabric, chose the paint, bought the furniture, (much of it from hotel sales), contracted the kitchen renovation, all to the cry of “I don’t know what I’m doing!!” Amazing what we can do when we get out of our own way. Wisdom: Get out of your own way!
Meet Pat Kline, aka, Pat Charles. Indeed, she became her own decorator and is everyone’s best friend and hostess extraordinaire. Her home has everything one needs to allow for wonderful conversation and great vibes, but the main ingredient is Pat. Testimony and tribute from Camille Bennett:
“When my friend’s father passed, Auntie Pat welcomed my friends and me to her home. We were in our 20s and devastated. Auntie Pat mothered us and made sure the 5 of us were comfortable, well fed, and found reasons to laugh. My friends will never forget her. She also made sure my Dad had the time of his life in Chicago before he passed. There is nothing like a stay at Auntie Pat’s house. We stay there every time we visit Chicago. She is a warm blanket to the soul.”
Indeed, Pat Kline is a “warm blanket to the soul.”
